Jackky Bhagnani feels elated after his meeting with Malala

Bollywood actor Jackky Bhagnani finally got to meet with Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai, whom he called as his 'hero'.

Ever since her near-fatal shooting incident, Pakistani social activist and Nobel Prize laureate Yousafzai has had many achievements fall into her lap. Yousafzai has come a long way from Swat and even met US President Barack Obama, the queen of England and had an asteroid to her name. Hence, the news that she recently met a Bollywood star who called her as his hero, should not come as a surprise.

Bhagnani, one of Bollywood's well known stars, met the teenage girl in London and was elated at the encounter. There seems to be an interesting anecdote behind Bhagnani and Yousafzai's encounter. Bhagnani had made a mistake with Yousafzai's name and spelt it as 'Masala'. The actor subsequently made a satirical apology video on July 12, on the occasion of Yousafzai's 18th birthday.

Needless to say, the video that Bhagnani made went viral on social media. So much so, that the little girl from Swat also watched it and was delighted. Yousafzai's father took the initiative of calling Bhagnani for a meeting with his little girl.

"For me, things have come full circle. From an auto-correct mistake to a birthday video tribute, to a dream meeting with one of my heroes, Malala is not just an inspiration but a living example of how to fight with courage and determination," Bhagnani, who left for London on Monday, said in a statement.

"Her humility is touching and her sincerity is what makes her the leader that she is. Malala is a celebration of the human spirit and this meeting was an opportunity for me to experience that," he added.

"The support encourages me to go on further as I know I'm not a lone girl in this mission of wanting girls to get quality education. I'm very thankful to Jackky and the team that made this video." Before the meet took place, Bhagnani did promote it a bit on Twitter.

He did share some moments from his meeting Yousafzai.He also shared a very special message from Yousafzai herself.
