Rare manuscripts of Holy Quran displayed

MADINAH - Rare manuscripts of the Holy Quran were displayed at an exhibition inaugurated by Prince Faisal in Madinah.

The event was sponsored by the Simaya Group in cooperation with the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs in Madinah, Arab News reported on Friday.

Supported with a documentary on the holy book, the exhibition was embedded with audio and visual displays that depicted the salient features of the Holy Quran, its history, interpretation, readings and its influence on man, family, society and country.

The show displayed a set of rare collection of precious manuscripts of the Holy Quran from the King Abdul Aziz Library in Madinah and from the library of the Prophet's Mosque. In addition, a piece from the cover of the Holy Kaaba - over 140 years old - was also one of the exhibits at the show.
