PM offers Eid prayers in London


LONDON - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif offered Eidul Azha prayers in the London Central Mosque at the Islamic Cultural Centre on Thursday.

He was received by Islamic Cultural Centre Director General Dr Ahmad Al-Dubayan. The prime minister was accompanied by Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi, Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK Syed Ibne Abbas, officials of the High Commission and a large number of the Pakistani community.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister, together with the Pakistani community, prayed for peace, progress and prosperity of the country and unity of Ummah, a Pakistan High Commission press release said. After the prayers, the prime minister mixed up with the expatriate community and extended Eid greetings to them. Later speaking to the media, the prime minister extended heartiest Eid Mubarak to the nation. In his message on the occasion, he emphasized on the need of national unity in the face of challenges faced by Pakistan.
