US jobless claims inch higher
WASHINGTON - New claims for US unemployment insurance inched up last week, but the overall trend in the data continued to suggest a tightening labor market, according to government figures released on Thursday.
Initial jobless claims rose 3,000 to 267,000 in the week ending September 19, the Labor Department said. A year ago, there were claims from 295,000.
