Imran Abbas to star in Karan Johar’s next with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor
Pakistani actor Imran Abbas has been cast opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in upcoming Karan Johar film 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'.
He's made his entry into Bollywood with 'Creature 3D' and 'Jaanisaar'. However, Pakistani actor Abbas might be looking towards brighter prospects, since he will reportedly star in an upcoming film starring Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai. What's better, it's a Johar film!
However, Abbas will only play a cameo in the film, which is titled 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'. Abbas hinted shooting for the film when he posted a Tweet on micro-blogging site Twitter, stating that he was relishing the chance to work with his new team.
Earlier, it was being reported that Fawad Khan and Sunny Leone might star in 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'. However, that did not materialise.
The actor has worked with prominent Bollywood celebrities before, such as Bipasha Basu and Muzaffar Ali. He starred in 'Creature 3D' opposite Basu in a horror flick, which failed to impress at the box office and got criticised due to a shallow plot. His next venture in the Indian film industry looked promising, with 'Umrao Jan' director Ali throwing his weight behind Abbas. However, that too failed to impress critics.
A cameo in Johar's flick opposite some of the biggest stars in Bollywood might not be too much, but it's certainly a start for Abbas to redeem himself in India. His charming personality and stellar good looks have so far not been successful in him making it big, such as other contemporary artists like Fawad, Mahira Khan and Ali Zafar.
Whatever may be the case, we hope that Abbas impresses us all with his latest film and pulls off a stunner, even if it is a cameo role!
