Happiness is only real when shared
Try to make at least one person happy every day. If you cannot do a kind deed, speak a kind word. If you cannot speak a kind word, think a kind thought. Count up, if you can, the treasure of happiness that you would dispense in a week, in a year, in a lifetime!

I’ve seen a ward in a hospital and I’ve explored many things that patients have to face in their daily routine. The most important thing is that patients are needy and they can’t afford many things including medicines and different medical tests. Our team has taken the onus to save lives of patients and we have collected the donations for them just because of humanity. I have no words to describe in two or three sentences the work we are doing. I am really concerned with patients who are surviving with inadequate services at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre in Karachi.
After making an energetic team, we are working now in this hospital and everyone in our team is contributing for the sake of patients currently in ward number five, six and seven. Instead of getting financial support, we are doing this activity independently and we raised funds, as there are students of different universities that are part of our team. It is a collaboration of all people included doctors, heads of departments and staff as well. I am sharing my personal thoughts on the first day I entered into the centre. Owing to more patients caused by heatstroke, there was less place for enough beds to adjust patients. This situation was also unruly for doctors and staff to handle patients.
At least 1200 residents lost their lives due to heatstroke. But unfortunately, the government officials and social activists were also missing to provide some relief to the poor and needy people. We realised that our people are suffering from diseases and we have to show responsibility such as medicines like albumin injection. And this injection costs around Rs 9,500. How can a patient buy this injection? There is also the issue of blood donations as attendees don’t have donors and some of the attendees are women so what will be the solution of this matter? When I saw the child who was fighting for life in the final stage I couldn’t stop crying. I wish I could change the lives of others.
Pakistan is our country and these patients are part of our nation so how can I let it be? I can’t control my emotions towards the patients, but my mission is to work for them continuously. I am a researcher and our team will try to collect donations for the impecunious persons. We don’t need prominence or recognition. Our people’s lives are more important than fame or whatever. I’ve realised the feelings of others, even when we were leaving the hospital, some of the patients, as well as doctors, were worried about who will support the patients. Therefore, we’ve decided to continue our work and will support as much as possible with enthusiasm and work as a team.
– One love, one heart, one destiny –
I believe in unity, faith and discipline. Our team is determined and we will try our level best to continue with this enthusiasm. We’ll try to fulfil the needs of the patients as well as the doctors. We attempted to save the life of a young patient who is no more as he was a cancer patient. We did our best in his medical tests and other things that were required. He was 20 years old and his family was from interior Sindh and could not afford his treatment.
Sometimes I wonder why these illnesses and problems occur to poor people who can’t afford the treatment. After the death of this young boy, we have decided to continue our work for the betterment of the patients. I am thankful to God as He empowers me to face hardships and all hard situations in my life. I, along with my team members, am committed to continue work for our own people who need support and cooperation.
