Miniature paintings exhibition opens at Nomad
ISLAMABAD: An exhibition of miniature paintings opened at Nomad Art Gallery on Tuesday.The artists presented their artistic work pieces and got feedback of a large crowd of art lovers who attended the event.
According to details, artists Sadaf Javaid, Hira Shakir and Osama Bin Shahab presented artistic work in accordance to their own styles in the exhibition titled "Reading Between The Lines" organised by curator of Nomad Nageen Hayat.
Javaid worked in her way on dyed paper, gouache and paper cut out on walls and gouache on walls. She depicted the pictures in depth.On the occasion, Javaid said, "There exist many patterns beside our own. All these patterns were interconnected opening different life circles within a circle. My work is an attempt to explore my ideas."
Another female artist of the day, Shakir also tried to present her idea in her art colours as she also applied gouache on walls in a piece. Besides that, Shakir worked to depict the various designs of jewellery, which remained the special focus of female visitors of the events as well as TV dramas, which got attraction of female participants.
"The paintings were very amazing. It shows the toil of the artist who very deeply made her way though lines and also she did not go beyond those lines. Her work focused specially on females of all sorts and of all ages," said 21-year-old Irum Tabasum; a visitor at the show.During her address on the occasion, Shakir said that her recent line of work was particularly inspired by the rapidly growing influence of films and television series in our lives and how for some of us, the obsession had reached the point where we at times were unable to figure out where drama ended and our real life began.
Osama Bin Shahab, very young artist who recently completed his FSC had presented his seven pieces of art. On the occasion, he also shared his future aims with the audiences. He said that he wished to participate and contribute effectively as an artist in society and art in particular through the medium of miniature painting. "Art has a meaning and that should be reflected into work and to help the image of the community we live in today and to make it better," Shahab explained.
Earlier in her welcoming remarks, Hayat revealed that the exhibition showed a generous spirit of collaboration between the artists and the gallery. It allowed the viewer to gaze upon and realise some intriguing new ideas. "This is an evolving process through the medium of miniature paintings, subtly handled with skill and flair. A series of steps, one leading to another allowing for the build up of form, content and structure of whole texture," Hayat added.
